I have a favorite bartender, Tom, at a neighborhood restaurant. I go there once or twice a week--to sit at the bar and have a drink or two and sometimes dinner. I've been doing this for the past year and a half. Until now, I haven't known exactly WHY I enjoy going there when I know Tom is behind the bar. (I hadn't questioned why.) This book explained it to me! <br /> <br />I really enjoyed reading this. It's a fine mix of stories, sage wisdom, and practical advice. I was there on business and my associate was stranded in Washington DC waiting for a flight after multiple delays. <br /> <br />Since I was unable to have a planning meeting with my associate for an important client visit the next day, I opted to sit and have dinner at the bar. At the bar, there were several fellows enjoying some laughs and stories. I wasn't sure whether I'd be harassed, left alone or welcomed. While I consider myself as not easily intimidated, I was a little apprehensive. <br /> <br />Not only did Shaun arrange for me a great meal and libation, he orchestrated the bar with great finesse. His observations and efforts soon had me participating in the fun and made for a very enjoyable evening. It wasn't until much later in the evening that I came to realize that everyone there was newly acquainted - meeting for the first time. <br /> <br />In conversation with Shaun, I learned of his book and promised to give it a read. After meeting the author and seeing him in action, I am eager to read his book.
