Bartending Supplies

Hey, I’m moving to Austin in a few days and should be there in a week (4/10). Thing is, I’m coming out there from The Bronx, NY without a job and need to start working asap ~ I have a bartending license but I don’t know anybody in the city. All of the online postings say “apply in person” and I’m 1600 miles away right now. So, I’m gonna have to hit ‘em all by foot when I get settled. How hard is it to snag a bartending gig?

with your license and experience it should be easy to find something- the question is how good of a place will it be- if you can afford it I would take a whole week to get settled and visit as many places as possible- visit bars, nightclubs, hotels, restaurancts, etc.

I would start downtown and you can hit SEVERAL dozen just in the downtown area. I would get something there and then branch out to other areas to see what other options you might have. Start of 6th and the wharehouse district.

Find a phone book start calling bars and talking with the bar owner’s or manager’s.Say nothing to the help thats their except you would like to speak with the manager.Be out going and explain your plan’s and only ask to get an interview.Don’t stop with one interview call every one of them more than once if you must.Never call when they would be buzy.Main thing is be out going and sure of your self.Do that and you will land a job fast.
