I use it for protein shakes so I can’t judge it’s use for Cocktails. The strainer is part of the top, so it’s a two peice. It’s made in India of high gauge stainless steel. It’s thinker than any of my other stainless steel glasses. I tend to trust stainless steel crockery made in India; since they only use stainless steel for cultural reasons, it tends to be better made than other imports. I’ve used it a few times and there have been no leaks. It makes a tight enough seal where I don’t need to hold the top when I shake, but not so tight that it’s a pain to get off.
My only complaint is they did not dimple the bottom so it is not as stable as I think it should be. Maybe that’s how cocktail shakers are designed though.
