It's not too thick and heavy so it's manageable move around. The juice trough is on BOTH sides and is ample to catch the yummy drips. I prefer the indentation in this board to stabilize a bird rather than the models with little spikes on the cutting surface. Doesn't tear up the side that is being 'spiked'. <br /> <br />I got this for my husband for Christmas and I could only get this large size. I would have preferred one size down, but I was stuck and got what I could. That said, there is plenty of space to put the sliced meat on the sides of the board.
